Chickasaw Elementary was built in 1960 which was originally designed to serve about 350 students. Our school has grown over the years, and we now serve around 775 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.  Our population is diverse and highly mobile. Our student population consists of 68% of Hispanic, 19% of Caucasian, 8% of African American, 2% of Asian, and 3% of others.  Our school qualified for Title One services since approximately eighty-five percent of the students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch.  Chickasaw family is made up of 66 wonderful instructional employees and 33 reliable support staff who work hand in hand to provide a safe and caring environment for our students.

Parent involvement is a significant support for our school. We have an active PTA, School Advisory Council and ADDitions program.  Through these organizations, our parents help the school to be a better place for the children to learn and grow. Many of the students come from single-family homes or dual income homes. Chickasaw has many great events that are always well attended by the parents and the students, such as Meet Teacher Day, Open House, Honor Roll Award Ceremonies, FCAT Preparation Night, Math Night, Family Builder Night, Family Reading Night, Parental Involvement Day, Walkathon, etc.  Our school works closely with the parents on daily basis.  Together, we help our children strive for success.
